About the programme

FLoC’18 wants to put participation within reach for as many people as possible.  Therefore we offer the following two programmes.  You can only receive support from ONE of these programmes (not both).

  • Travel stipend (a variable amount towards travel costs for graduate students depending on the origin of travel). Stipend recipients will need to pay the registration fee.

OR

  • The FLoC Volunteer programme, which allows free participation at FLoC (no registration fee).

FLoC’18 volunteers will be able to interact with speakers and participants, network with other researchers and meet graduate students from all over the world.

Opportunities

There will be a variety of tasks you can help us with, such as helping at the registration desk, assisting with the audio-visual equipment across the different venues, giving directions to venues, providing information to conference/workshop participants, helping with traffic flow, general assistance to keep the conference running smoothly, or engaging with social media about FLoC. Tasks will be allocated where possible based on preferences. You will receive training and will be supervised and supported by members of the FLoC organising team.
