Saturday, 14 July, 11:00-12:30

Blavatnik School of Government, LT2

“Allies” are people who support a group who are commonly the subject of discrimination or prejudice, but who are not members of that group.

The Ally Skills session teaches simple everyday ways for allies to use their privilege and influence to support people who are targets of systemic oppression in their workplaces and communities. This includes women of all races, people of color, people with disabilities, LGBTQ folks, parents, caregivers of all sorts, and people of different ages.

The format of the session will be some introductory material, followed by group-based discussion of several scenarios. All are welcome, registration not required. Hope to see you there!

The Ally Skills session at FLoC is based on the Ally Skills Workshop, developed by Frame Shift Consulting, using materials available at https://frameshiftconsulting.com/ally-skills-workshop/ under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license. After FLoC, slides from the Ally Skills session will be available here, and all material from the Ally Skills session at FLoC are freely reusable, modifiable, and redistributable under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license.
